As the Physically Handicapped Adults’ Rehabilitation Association (PHARA) celebrates their 50th year serving North Bay and surrounding communities, they are excited to announce that the organization has earned the prestigious Great Place to Work® Certification.

To celebrate Personal Support Workers (PSW) a flag was raised today at city hall by PHARA, officials, and community members from North Bay. The event is being held in advance of the PSW Day which is held annually on May 19. 

Join PHARA for our Open House. Tour our facility, tour an accessible apartment, our exercise room used for rehabilitation services, our Assistive Devices Program or apply for employment. PHARA is a proud member of our community for 50 years.

Join PHARA, officials, and community members from North Bay for a flag raising ceremony to celebrate Personal Support Workers (PSW) on Friday, May 17, 2024. The event is being held in advance of the PSW Day which is held annually on May 19.

Layla’s involvement with PHARA started in the 1970s, when she was in her 20s, as a volunteer. She took part in numerous PHARA committees, eventually serving on the Board of Directors for 26 years where she held a variety of positions, including President.

For the past few years, PHARA has been participating in North Bay’s Recycling and Garbage Collection Calendar in an effort to help divert assistive devices from becoming garbage.
