Assistive Devices Program

Borrow free assistive and mobility devices

The Assistive Devices program operates out of PHARA’s Westwind Apartment building at 280 Oakwood Avenue in North Bay.  The programs provides assistive and mobility devices at no charge for a period of up to 90 days. The assistive and mobility devices include:

  • Rollator

  • Walker

  • Shower chair

  • Cane

  • Manual wheelchair

  • Crutches

  • Raised toilet seat

  • Versa frame

  • Commode

  • Bed assist rail

  • Tub transfer bench

This programs operates based on donations of equipment and monies. The program is open to individuals in the North Bay and West Nipissing areas.

To Borrow

To be able to borrow equipment you must;

  • Be over the age of 18

  • Complete an application and waiver form

  • Live within the North Bay and West Nipissing areas

  • Provide a copy of Government of Ontario recognized ID

Note: PHARA does not maintain a wait list for equipment.

To Donate

To donate equipment to the Assistive Devices program please call us at 705-476-0733.

A tax receipt based on the condition and value of the equipment will be provided if the amount is greater than $25. The amount is determined by PHARA. Note: PHARA only accepts non-electrical assistive and mobility devices. PHARA also does not accept hospital beds.
