Land Acknowledgement

Land Acknowledgement

PHARA acknowledges the sacred land on which we operate here in North Bay. This land is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabek Nation and protected by the Robinson Huron Treaty of 1850. This land is occupied by the people of Nipissing First Nation and Dokis First Nation. PHARA is grateful to the Indigenous peoples for caring for this land from time immemorial and sharing the land on which we operate. PHARA acknowledges the history of colonization and its impact on Indigenous peoples over multiple generations.

As part of PHARA’s continued commitment to reconciliation, PHARA examines its current policies and practices; provides educational opportunities to its employees; and establishes local, regional, and provincial connections and partnerships, with the aim of promoting and enhancing equity and cultural safety within our community and throughout the Health Services Sector.
