PHARA Helps to Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse

For the past few years, PHARA has been participating in North Bay’s Recycling and Garbage Collection Calendar in an effort to help divert assistive devices from becoming garbage.

“We are working to keep good equipment from becoming landfill. It's best for the people who need to use it, the community, and the environment,” said Mike Van der Vlist, CEO of PHARA. “We rely on people donating their gently used assistive devices to our program to help others in the community.”

“Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive with either equipment or direct cash donations. The program has been growing more successful and being used by more people every year, and we can’t do it without your support.”

The Assistive Devices program operates out of PHARA’s Westwind Apartment building at 280 Oakwood Avenue in North Bay.  The programs provides assistive and mobility devices at no charge for a period of up to 90 days.
