East Parry Sound Community Support Services is looking for volunteer drivers

East Parry Sound Community Support Services is looking for volunteer drivers to help bring people to their medical appointments. Nobody should miss their appointment because they don’t have a ride, and you can make a big difference.

Imagine that you have an important medical appointment such as with a doctor, specialist, bloodwork, x-ray, CT Scan, MRI, dialysis, colonoscopy, or surgery, but you don’t have a way to get there. You can’t drive due to age/disability/illness and your family/friends are not able to take you. A volunteer driver can be life changing!

This is why East Parry Sound Community Support Services needs you! If you have a reliable vehicle, like to drive, and like to help people, please contact them to find out how to become a volunteer driver. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Contact East Parry Sound Community Support Services at 705-724-6028 or 1-888-521-0000 to sign up today.

Five reasons to become a volunteer driver:

  • Directly Help People: You’ll provide essential support to individuals who may otherwise miss critical medical care due to a lack of transportation, directly improving their health and well-being.

  • Foster Community Connections: Volunteering as a driver allows you to build meaningful relationships with people in your community, fostering a sense of connection and mutual support.

  • Flexible and Rewarding: Volunteer driving offers flexibility, allowing you to choose when and how often you drive. It's a simple way to give back that fits into your schedule.

  • Mileage Reimbursement: While the satisfaction of helping others is the main reward, East Parry Sound Community Support Services offers mileage reimbursement, so you won't be out of pocket for fuel costs.

  • Combat Isolation: For many, a medical appointment might be their only outing. By volunteering, you help reduce the isolation that vulnerable individuals may experience, offering them companionship and a sense of dignity.

PLUS, you will be helping to promote independence: Many people rely on volunteer drivers to maintain their independence. By offering your time, you help individuals continue living independently at home.
