A Promise Fulfilled

Over a decade ago PHARA was asked for assistance by groups in the Thessalon area of the Algoma Region. PHARA was asked to save the old Algoma Manor from being torn down.

PHARA was asked to build 33 apartments. PHARA was asked to take over the Meals on Wheels program. PHARA was asked to start an Assisted Living Program. Through a coming together of PHARA, government organizations, local agencies, and the community this was completed! Yet we did this with the promise of one day turning it over to local leadership. In 2018 PHARA sold the building to the Algoma District Services Administration Board and in 2022 the services were given to Algoma Manor.

PHARA, as we had promised, turned this over to local leadership. PHARA recognizes the importance and value of organizations being locally based. It was a PROMISE FULFILLED!
